So last night was a fun game. Lots of fighting... an almost death.... thankfully cover saved the life. As an experiment I let my player vote on whether they wanted to try something new... I offered to switch nat 20 and nat 1. They voted to go through with the switch. The reason for this was that Ari rolls a nat 1 about 5 times a night. and Earl rolls a nat 20 about the same or more. I wanted to see if their luck followed the change. Well Ari rolled 7 nat 20's (now a failure) and I think 3 nat 1's(now a success). Earl stayed some what in the middle. It made for an interesting game. Ari proved that he is the one and only king of botch... hey maybe I should start posting what happens in game.

Hope that cut worked!

First the characters:
Ari = Kammar, a wild elf ranger
Earl = Drekk, a half orc barbarian
John = Darius, a human fighter, trying to go kinda holy

Basically they camped the first night to try to heal a bit since they were all beat to hell. Thankfully with the addition of Kath (Marlena), whom is a druid, they now have some access to magical healing. Now in the past Weird things are happening. Random creatures that have never been seen before are basically appearing in the area of large stone arches. The party came into the past through one of these arches. The first morning in the past they were attack by a ravenous barghest and greater barghest. Much damage was dealt the greater barghest took to his alternate form and wielded a flaming large scythe.

After triumphing over this dynamic duo they decide to get a move on toward civilization. The only problem was that to get to civilization they had to cross one of two rivers, both of which had a bridge. The bridges were both near a place where the rivers met (both raging white rapids style) Marlena new of a danger to this area. A pair of Basilisks had moved into a cave right near the meeting point of the rivers. And in the usually style the only other way around was a hundred miles out of the way (that's not far... really) Marlena had an idea, entangle, so she did it and caught one of the basilisks immobile and left the other one at half speed. Then the party booked. They happened to be about 10 feet out of range of the petrifying gaze, during their run and stopped a ways away from it. The basilisk made to chase them but after it moved they were still out of range. The party continued to run, and the basilisk went back and lay down in the sun, to await new prey.

Then everyone kept on traveling, at about dark, Marlena told the guys that they would be arriving at her home city (that happens to be among the trees) at noon the next day. Everyone voted to try to keep on going into the night because it was creepy out there. When they were two hours out from the city they heard a man yell something.. as they approached they saw an older man brandishing a sword against something that was about the size of an average man, but had four arms and 2 large longbows. it was in this battle that some one nearly died, because I had forgotten to ad the ac bonus for cover, it only stopped one of the arrows, but it was enough to save him from dying. Once they killed this poor creature that was just trying to get a decent dinner, they checked the elder(whom i had forgotten to describe... damn it all) they found out that he was in bad shape with poison coursing through his veins. They came to the conclusion that the only thing they could do for him was get him to the city asap and hopefully find some one who was more skilled in the healing arts to take care of him.

And that is where we stopped. Mwhahahahahah! Tune in next week (maybe) same Bat time same Bat channel. --Derek

Fun Stuff

I like the post-game update for those not playing.

Yes, it's a good thing John rolled a Nat 1 on his Heal check for that Elder guy too. Stupid demon, trying to tell the raging barbarian to leave him to his meal...Granted, I was the only one that could understand him, but I wasn't feeling too "rational."

I'd like to mention that damage reduction is a pain in the ass. Good thing we had Kammar or we woulda died.

Re: Fun Stuff

I thought it might be a good thing to give a light recap on the friday game, incase we forget how we ended... and to give me something to post about, and yess to tell everyone of the hillarity that comes over us on friday nights.

Hey Kammar was the only thing between you guys and slaughter at the hands of "The Horde"... hehehe. If only he read this.--Derek

Re: Fun Stuff

I'm beyond counciling right now...I find that the best solution to finding inner peace is the bloody deaths of all who become obstacles to that goal.

In time, you shall all feel the wrath of the mini-monk...
